Covington, La. - U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, Louisiana's influential senior senator who successfully fought for $7 billion in hurricane protection for Louisiana, has endorsed Congressional candidate Jim Harlan, who has made hurricane protection a top priority of his campaign in the First District.
New Orleans, La - Oct. 18, 2008 - - The politically influential New Orleans metropolitan newspaper, the Gambit Weekly, endorsed Jim Harlan this week for Congress in the First District, making an about face from it's previous support of short-term incumbent Steve Scalise in the Spring's special election.
Jim Harlan is clearly the best choice to help keep the 1st District progressing. He is not an old-school, partisan ideologue, and will be in a much better position to deal with the next president.
